MATT JOHNSON

Managing Director and Investment Committee Member

Matt has spent over 20 years leading investments in the senior living space, focusing on acquisitions, development, and operational performance improvement. As co-founder of McFarlin Group, Matt plays a pivotal role in identifying opportunities and executing strategies that create long-term value for residents, operators, and investors alike.

Prior to McFarlin, Matt served in leadership roles at a large, Texas-based senior living company where he managed marketing, lease-up, and development efforts across the country.

Spearheaded the planning and development of 40+ senior living communities
Oversaw project budgets from $10M to $240M
Led projects in 14 states, with over $650M in total debt
Deep background in lease-up, operations, and turnaround strategies
Bachelor’s in Business Administration, SMU (Double major: Finance + Real Estate Finance)

Matt is also a YPO member and a former Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.

Josh Rosen

JOSH ROSEN

Managing Director and Investment Committee Member

Josh has nearly a decade of experience in senior living investments and operations, playing a key role in the strategic growth of McFarlin Group since shortly after its formation in 2008. With a sharp focus on deal structuring and execution, Josh has led the development, financing, and operations of more than $200 million in senior living communities across the U.S.

His expertise spans new developments, renovations, and acquisitions — guiding projects from concept through completion, and supporting operations post-opening to ensure communities deliver exceptional care and financial performance.

Developed and financed over $200M in senior living real estate
Leads structuring of debt and equity for acquisitions and ground-up projects
Oversees development, construction, and renovation efforts
Actively involved in day-to-day oversight of operations at managed communities
Extensive background in strategic planning for not-for-profit senior living providers

Prior to joining McFarlin Group, Josh worked with a Texas-based senior living developer, advising non-profit communities on growth strategies and financial planning.

Josh earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University in 2004.

JORDAN LU

Director of Real Estate

Jordan joined McFarlin Group in 2024 as Director of Real Estate, bringing a fresh, strategic perspective to the firm’s investment execution and operational alignment. With a strong foundation in healthcare real estate, Jordan focuses on identifying, evaluating, and managing investment opportunities while supporting and enhancing the management teams at McFarlin Group’s operating partners.

Prior to McFarlin, Jordan served as an Associate at Birchwood Healthcare Partners, where he was actively involved in acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations, and asset management across a wide range of healthcare assets—including skilled nursing, senior housing, and post-acute services.

Jordan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he developed a strong foundation in finance and strategy. His early career in sales, marketing, and supply chain management adds a unique lens to his investment approach and fuels his passion for healthcare and real estate.

Jill Haselman

JILL HASLEMAN

President of Operations

Jill joined McFarlin Group in June of 2023 as a partner and President of Operations. In this role, Jill works directly with communities and operators to streamline the channel between McFarlin Group and its communities. Prior to joining McFarlin Group, Ms. Haselman was Founder and CEO of Senior Living Net Operating Impact™ (SLNOI™), a company focused on driving operating results through a unique culture and values process.

Jill is committed to helping the industry realize the critical importance of talent on the bottom line. After recognizing the industry trend of ‘talent apathy’, she and her team completed research for a groundbreaking senior living specific hiring assessment. Through statistically valid and reliable research and measuring motivations of those among the industry’s top 20% front line employees, her company introduced HIREimpact™ in May 2014.

Jill has a PhD (abd) in Organizational Development from Cornell University, a Master’s of Science in HR Management and Adult Education from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Old Dominion University.

Misty Rountree

MISTY ROUNTREE

Director of HR

Misty brings over 17 years of experience in Human Resources to her role as Director of Human Resources at Method HR Management. With expertise in HR service delivery, talent management, and compliance, Misty is committed to fostering a supportive and innovative work environment. She excels in streamlining HR processes, enhancing payroll administration, and developing comprehensive employee lifecycle programs.

Throughout her career, Misty has led HR initiatives for various organizations in the Senior Living Industry where she was instrumental in driving workforce optimization, recruitment strategies, and performance management. Her collaborative leadership style enables her to work closely with executives and community leaders to design and implement HR solutions that align with business goals.

Misty holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Texas Woman’s University and is pursuing a Master of Health Administration/Master of Business Administration. She is certified by both the HR Certification Institute (PHR) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP). Outside of her professional endeavors, Misty is an active community member, leveraging her skills to empower others through mentorship and organizational development.
